Real-Time PCR System

A Real-Time PCR System (quantitative PCR or qPCR machine) is a laboratory instrument that amplifies DNA or RNA sequences while simultaneously measuring the accumulation of fluorescent reporter signals in real time.

Key Features

  • Simultaneous Monitoring: Tracks DNA/RNA copy growth cycle-by-cycle using fluorescent dyes (like SYBR Green) or sequence-specific probes (like TaqMan).
  • Quantitative Precision: Determines the initial amount of target nucleic acid by identifying the quantification cycle (Cq) when fluorescence rises above background noise.
  • No Post-PCR Processing: Eliminates the need for gel electrophoresis or manual product handling, reducing contamination risks and speeding up workflows.
