DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) 500 ml is a widely used liquid basal cell culture medium designed to support the growth and maintenance of various mammalian cell lines, including primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, and HeLa cells.

• Base Formulation: Contains elevated concentrations of amino acids and vitamins (fourfold higher than original Eagle’s MEM), inorganic salts, and glucose (available in low-glucose 1 g/L or high-glucose 4.5 g/L variants).
• Common Additives: Frequently formulated with or without L-glutamine, sodium pyruvate, phenol red, and sodium bicarbonate buffer systems (requiring a 5–10% CO₂ atmosphere).
