Cell Scrapers

A Cell Scraper is a sterile, disposable laboratory tool designed to mechanically harvest adherent cells from culture dishes, plates, and flasks.

Key Features

  • Flexible Blade: Made of soft thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) or polyethylene to prevent scratching the growth surface or causing excessive cell damage.
  • Ergonomic Handle: Long plastic handle (available in various lengths like 25 cm or 39 cm) to reach the bottom of deep culture vessels.
  • Adjustable Heads: Features fixed, rotating, or pivoting blades that can switch between scraper and lifter positions for corners.
  • Ready-to-Use: Individually wrapped, gamma-irradiated, sterile, and non-pyrogenic/DNase-free.

Common Applications

  • Cell Harvesting: Detaching cell monolayers when enzymatic methods (like trypsin) are not ideal.
  • Downstream Analysis: Collecting cell samples for protein extraction, Western blotting, or nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) work.
